The short version
Section titled “The short version”mycellm is open-source software you run yourself. The public chat at mycellm.ai is a free demo with rate limits. Don’t abuse it, don’t send sensitive data through it, and don’t use it for anything illegal. That’s the gist.
Software license
Section titled “Software license”mycellm software is licensed under the Apache License 2.0. You may use, modify, and distribute the software in accordance with that license.
Trademark
Section titled “Trademark”“mycellm” and the mycellm mushroom logo are trademarks of Michael Gifford-Santos. The Apache 2.0 license does not grant rights to use these trademarks. If you fork or modify the software, you must use a different name and logo.
Public network and chat
Section titled “Public network and chat”The public chat at mycellm.ai and the API gateway at api.mycellm.dev are provided as-is, free of charge, with the following conditions:
Acceptable use
Section titled “Acceptable use”You agree not to:
- Submit prompts intended to generate illegal content
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits or abuse the service
- Use the public network for automated scraping or bulk inference without permission
- Transmit malware, exploits, or prompt injection attacks targeting peer nodes
- Impersonate other users or nodes on the network
Rate limits
Section titled “Rate limits”The public gateway enforces a daily token budget per IP address. These limits may change without notice. For higher limits, run your own node and contribute to the network.
No warranty
Section titled “No warranty”THE PUBLIC NETWORK IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, OR QUALITY OF RESPONSES. The network is operated by distributed volunteer nodes and may produce incorrect, incomplete, or inappropriate output.
Content
Section titled “Content”- You are responsible for the prompts you submit and how you use the responses.
- Prompts are processed by third-party GPU nodes. We cannot guarantee confidentiality. Do not submit sensitive data.
- We do not monitor, filter, or moderate prompts or responses on the public network.
Running your own node
Section titled “Running your own node”When you run mycellm on your own hardware:
- You are responsible for your node’s configuration, security, and compliance with applicable laws.
- If you serve inference to the public network, you agree to not log prompt content from other users (the protocol includes a no-log flag, but enforcement is on the honor system).
- You retain full ownership of your hardware, credits earned, and data stored locally.
Limitation of liability
Section titled “Limitation of liability”To the maximum extent permitted by law, the mycellm project and its contributors shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of the software or the public network, including but not limited to data loss, service interruption, or actions of third-party node operators.
Changes
Section titled “Changes”We may update these terms. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the public network constitutes acceptance.
